G34 flux brace12/19/2023 ![]() The 17 brace fits almost perfectly on the 19, except the hole for the pin is about 1/2 diameter off. I got both the brace and the flash mag (with light) and installed them on my 19 while I’m waiting on a 17 MOS to come in. The more that think otherwise, the more likely it is.After playing with mine on my Glock 19, I’m actually a little surprised how well developed and built this product is. about the 'impossibility' of SHTF happening and they'll probably talk about it like it's an eventuality because they saw it first hand. Ask anyone that lived in Lebanon, Syria, Yugoslavia etc. At the same time, the idea that it "never happens" is similarly ridiculous. The VAST majority of people never find themselves in a shooting at all, let alone SHTF. Therefore it makes no sense to dismiss things based on the fact that "you probably won't find yourself in that situation". Is it likely you'd need mag commonality with others in SHTF.maybe not, but if you could only have 1 gun for SHTF, and all else was equal, would you take the gun that had common mags or the one with super rare mags? BFPU ammo is cool, but mags themselves may be helpful also.īottom line, if we're arguing the practicality of these weapons, we are by default talking about very rare circumstances. ![]() It's super unlikely you'd ever actually need it's practical advantages over a flux glock anyway, so I guess we should all just not bother, am I right? View QuoteIf you're uninterested in low-frequency scenarios, then you don't need an mp5 either. I also agree, it's a step in the right direction. I understand your point though, these aftermarket additions on handguns are compromises and not the best options to replace a true PDW styled braced-pistol or SBR for the intended purpose. For me, it's just a smaller package than the prototypical PDWs and can fit a variety of smaller discreet carry options with much better capabilities out past 50 meters and potentially out to 100 meters that my typical CCW (and I) are not capable of consistently. While I don't have the need or desire, the Flux/Glock can be carried IWB not something an MP5 or similar styled SBR or pistol can accomplish. Where they shine is simply size and compactness. Folding braces, even SBR stocks are very much a compromise on a handgun, but they still offer a capability many can't replicate with a traditional CCW handgun. ![]() Adding a couple additional points of contact to a handgun really does make a difference at longer-distance engagements and much better accuracy. However, it fits a niche that has been addressed for over a 100 years. I don't think anyone would choose a Glock 17/34 with Flux over an HK MP5K or anything similar if talking pure performance and handling. View QuoteI posted some thoughts over in the Survival Gear sub-forum: Flux: Tribute to the orignal machine pistols This fits in the small part of a backpack so you can still actually carry shit that's not just your rifle. BUT a rifle, even an SBR or folding AR is a pain in the ass. I'm happy with 9mm out of 3" pistols for EDC so any more than that is still good. I will add a dot and threaded barrel to mine. I've tried a lot of things and ended up with the FLux. It fits in a small package, and will fit in it's original glock case which is nice. I've tried it on the timer, I know that for a fact. With a dot it's very fast and a bit more accurate at distance than I am with the same pistol with no brace. May as well get the extra barrel length or even shorter package. There seems to be about a 2month wait for Flux Defense stuff.įlux. I wouldn't have to "scrunch" up as much with the MPX, but I am also not a huge person at 5.5" and 140 lbs. Clearly the G34 would be the most compact. I want something that can condense into something smaller and the AR9 w/ 5.5" and PDW brace. ![]() I had a 5.5" AR9, but want to get away from the AR platform with the receiver extension. I would have an Aimpiont H-1 I can drop onto the MPX MPX-k is a 4.5", and has a larger footprint having an upper/lower and the breech being in front of the trigger vs having the breech located above the trigger. ![]() Threaded barrel will give me a barrel length of ~5.75". Glock G34 FS MOS Gen5 would be setup with a factory threaded barrel, Flux Defense Brace, Flux Mag Rail, OWP Trigger, Aimpoint ACRO, Zev Magwell. The 3 point of contact certainly helps in my case to get on target faster and recoil management. Mostly intend for a home defense gun and a backpack gun where having the 10.5" AR pistol is not an option, but want something with a little more stability when firing. Goal is to bridge between my handguns and my 10.5" AR15 pistol. The Glock34 (Gen5 FS MOS) built up the way I intend vs buying a Sig MPX-K or Copperhead, the cost comes close enough to each other. I am on the fence on which Pistol w/ brace. ![]()
